| Betty Buff Lemon Sherbet Sugar Scrub |
I was recently sent the Lemon Sherbet Sugar Scrub to try from the lovely people over at Betty Buff. I have to say I was over the moon as I'd been lusting after most of the collection for a while.

| Jar of Sugar Scrub |
My first impressions of the packaging were very mixed. I love the retro look of the design, but was disappointed that the labels look as though someone just printed them off of their computer and stuck them onto a jar! This is because the labels on the one I received are quite wonky and this takes makes the product look very homemade and not very professional.

As you can see from the picture above, the best before and batch codes on each jar of scrub are hand written. I like that these have a best before date, rather than a shelf life symbol as it's easy to forget when you actually started using a product.

Moving onto the product itself, I noticed that this doesn't look like your average body scrub, and I like that. It looks, and smells, good enough to eat. The citrus fragrance isn't too overpowering and when I used this product I did notice that the scent doesn't transfer onto the skin.
I found it quite difficult to scoop the scrub out of the jar whilst bathing (I'm more used to squeezy tubes) but a little goes a long way so it didn't really matter too much.

This sugar scrub feels really nice on the skin, and what I loved most about it was that it dissolved into the bath water rather than leaving a nasty residue in the bottom of the tub! I felt that it did exactly what it was supposed to do ... leave my skin looking and feeling silky smooth. I especially think that this product would be perfect for use before self tanning.
Overall, I think this is a lovely product, but unfortunately, due to the points I mentioned above, I think it's a little overpriced: £8.00 for 250ml, £6.50 for 150ml and £4.00 for 100ml. As this only has one carefully selected natural based preservative in it, it is very much a home made product, and I think you could make something very similar at home for a fraction of the cost.
On saying that, I'm not the sort of person who enjoys making my own products, and should the people over at Betty Buff lower the price of these products I would definitely stock up on these!
These Sugar Scrubs are available online from
Betty Buff and there are loads of different types to choose from.
I am going to award the Lemon Sherbet Sugar Scrub from Betty Buff 3.5/5

I love things that are citrus scented(: I'm a bit disappointed though, like you said, that you could probably make this at home for way cheaper. And that they labels look unprofessional. I personally don't buy body scrubs because they're so cheap to make at home xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm really lazy, so don't often make my own scrubs and things but it's definitely something to consider!xx
DeleteI would really reccomend soap and glory flake away, but I'm pretty sure thats about a tenner
ReplyDeleteI like Flake Away but not bought any in ages x

It does. I will definitely try a couple of others. Especially if they have a sale or something!
DeleteI love love love citrus smells too, but it's a bit annoying when if you were to spend your money on a product and it doesn't look 100% professional. But then again if the product worked well, I wonder how much that would matter? Thanks for the review!
