What The Postman Brought This Week #4

Good evening you guys!

Today's 'What The Postman Brought This Week' post is going to be a fairly short one compared to pervious weeks. I haven't received much and the majority of what I did get was from the Betrousse Beauty Box, which I'll be posting about really soon.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it - please let me know if you'd like me to do reviews on any of the products mentioned :)

Makeup & Nail Products:
Makeup & Nail Products
NYX One Night In Morocco Palette:
This is probably the product I was most excited to get my hands on this week as I've been lusting after it for ages! It contains 8 matte eyeshadows, an eyeshadow base and 4 sheer lip glosses. The palette is really compact, which means I'll be able to take it with me when I go on holiday next month (yay) and I'll most definitely be writing a review of this soon as it's absolutely amazing.

Covergirl Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadows in 115 - Golden Sunset:
Another product I've had my eye on for a while is the Covergirl Eye Enhancers trio in Golden Sunset. This kit contains 3 gorgeous pearl eyeshadows: Morning Cocoa, Golden Sunrise and First Light. I haven't tried these yet as they only arrived this morning but I'm really excited to give them a go later in the week!

Covergirl Trio£2.99

Make Believe Beauty Shimmer Lip Gloss*:
This is the first of 5 products that I received in my Betrousse Beauty Box this week. I hadn't heard of Make Believe Beauty before but after a quick look at their website I see that they are a brand who specialise in fake tan. This product seems really interesting as it's said to enhance the look of your tan when you wear it! The problem I think I'll have is that I don't tan very often, so I may have to let one of my friends try this gloss for me.

Shimmer Lip Gloss£10.00

Skincare, Bath & Body Products:
Skincare, Bath & Body Products
Benta Berry G-1 Exfoliating Facial Cleanser for Boys & Girls*:
The second product from the Betrousse Beauty Box is this cleanser from French brand Benta Berry. When I first took this out of the box I thought it was a spot cream! Oops ... the packaging doesn't really suggest it's a cleanser in my opinion. I never judge a product by it's packaging though so fingers crossed it's a good un!

Facial Cleanser£14.00

Fair Naturally Mango & Safflower Body Moisturiser*:
The third product from the Betrousse Beauty Box is a body moisturiser. I have absolutely tonnes of moisturisers and have runs on using them but I don't think I have any that smell of mango (a smell that I love) so I'm hoping that this one will hook me and I'll want to use it all the time. I was also surprised to see that this product is really cheap for the amount of moisturiser you get (200ml).

Tulecos Tonifying Oil*:
The fourth product from the Betrousse Beauty Box is the one that I am most excited about! The Tulecos Tonifying Oil is a special massage oil that is designed for use on the feet. As I love to have my feet rubbed (Nathan's not keen on me asking him to give me a foot massage by the way) I think this product will be the one that I like the most. I just hope it doesn't let me down!

Tonifying Oil£33.00

Hair Products:
Hair Products
Jason Normalizing Shampoo*:
Last but most certainly not least is the last product from the Betrousse Beauty Box: Jason Normalizing Shampoo. This is another product that I have high hopes for. I don't think I've ever received a shampoo in a beauty box before so this makes a really nice change.

Shampoo: £7.29

Have you guys ever tried any of these products? If so, I'd love to hear what you thought of them.

Thanks for reading.

Until next time, take care.

Guest Post: Jessica from Jessica's Journal

Hey guys.

Welcome to day 18 of 'A Guest Post a Day Through the Whole of May'.

Today's Guest Poster is Jessica from Jessica's Journal.

Jessica is a 15 year old blogger who is obsessed (like the majority of us it seems) with bath and body products. Her favourite brands are Lush and Soap & Glory and she also has a nail polish addiction! She admits that she can't stop buying it and I think that's going to show in her post!

Don't forget that if you enjoy what Jessica's written for me to go and spread the love over at her blog as well.

Cupcake Nail Art Tutorial

"Hello Everyone! I'm Jessica and I'm today's guest blogger for Louise!

I love doing my nails and when I have the time (and concentration) I like to do a bit of nail art. Obviously, some designs I see are way too tricky for me but I recently did some cupcake nails so I decided to re create it in a step by step. I chose to go for a pastel theme and have the cupcake as an accent nail however you can go for whatever colour theme you like or even have a cupcake on every nail.

Colours I used:
Barry M Strawberry Icecream (1)
Models Own Grape Juice (2)
Topshop Forget Me Not (3)
Collection French White (4)
Dotting tools/bobby pin

Step 1
I prepare the nail with Lush lemony flutter cuticle butter and filed them and applied a base coat followed by painting them all in my base colour (1)

Step 2
On every nail apart from the cupcake one, I used colours (2) and (3) to create polka dots. On the accent nail, I took (2) and just 'swiped' it across the nail to the thickness I wanted then went over it to get it a bit straighter. It doesn't have to be neat at the top because you will be going over it.

Step 3
With a bigger dotting tool I used (4). I started at the bottom and went along to create the scalloped style edge then went round the sides so it made an angle to the top I liked then filled it with a dotting motion.

Step 4
Now to 'decorate'. I used (3) and dotted it on top of the cupcake then (1) used a very small dotting tool to create dots of sprinkles on the frosting.

Quite straight forward and very pretty. My little sister told me it looked 'epic'!
Thanks to Louise for letting me guest post and hope you liked this tutorial.

Review: Power Berry Detox Mask from Dirty Works

Dirty Works Power Berry Detox Mask*
The Dirty Works Power Berry Detox Mask is a clay mask with superfruit extract.

It smells absolutely amazing and reminds me of a body scrub that I used to buy from Superdrug when I was a teenager ... and yes, that was a very long time ago!

Dirty Works Power Berry Detox Mask
I've used this mask 3 or 4 times now and the first thing I always notice when applying it is that it dries extremely patchily. Now, whenever I've used face masks in the past - and if you're a regular reader of my blog you'll know that this is often as I love to pamper myself whenever possible - I've never known one to dry as badly as this one does. It's such a shame.

I also find that once the mask has dried, which takes roughly around 10 minutes, it is really difficult to remove. I generally pop masks on before I take a bath and with this one I find that I still have bits of it stuck round my face when I get out, despite washing my face really well.

However, it's not all doom and gloom: the results once I've used this mask totally redeem this product. My skin really glows and it feels as soft and smooth as a baby's bottom. (Sorry, I'm a gushy mummy at this moment in time and love using all this daft phrases).

The Product
This mask contains superfruit extract of Blueberry, skin cleaning Willow Bark and detoxifying Green Clay and Kaolin which help draw out impurities.

The product itself is a sort of pale greeny grey shade and you literally only need the smallest amount to totally cover your face, meaning the tube should last a long time.

Until now I'd never used any Dirty Works products as the only place you can get them is Sainsbury's, and there are no stores near to where I live.

And last but not least, I thought I'd quickly mention the packaging. I love the simpleness of it and think that once you've seen the bright blue tube, you'll most definitely remember the brand.

The Power Berry Detox Mask is available from Sainsbury's and costs £4.99 for 100ml.

Dirty Works: Good, clean fun!!!

I am going to award the Power Berry Detox Mask from Dirty Works 4/5

Guest Post: Megan from Life And Lipsticks

Why hello again!

It's day 17 (yes, 17, where has the time gone?) of 'A Guest Post a Day Through the Whole of May' and today we are joined by Megan from Life And Lipsticks.

Megan is a 17 year old blogger from up North who confesses to drinking too much tea, spending too much money on makeup and being both a little shy and regularly sarcastic!

So why not pop the kettle on, put your feet up and head over to Life And Lipsticks to say hi? I'm sure Megan would be grateful.

"Hello everyone! I'm Megan from lifeandlipsticks.blogspot.co.uk and I'm excited to be doing the guest post for Louise today. My blog is full of beauty reviews, hauls and the odd bit of lifestyle. I hope you enjoy the guest post today while Louise enjoys looking after her little one.

I have always struggled when it comes to night creams. I have dry sensitive skin and all the other heavy night creams I have tried have broken me out. After using the nivea day cream for a year I decided to try the night cream version.

First things first I love the packaging. It's glass which makes it feel much more expensive than it is. Although I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's so wasteful that everything comes in cardboard boxes. The actual night cream is so thick and rich I can hold it upside down and nothing budges.

At first I thought it would be sticky and take ages to sink in but it absorbs in no time. Sticky night creams that make you feel like you've smeared honey on your face are not good! When I wake up in the morning my skin feels so well moisturized and not at all tight. I'd say as soft as a babies bottom but I don't know how soft babies bottoms are and that expression is so weird. Why would I want to compare my skin to someones bum?!

The best thing is this hasn't broke me out! Most night creams that are rich enough leave my my face covered in spots or rashes as my skin is sensitive but this one doesn't. It's gotten me through the harsh winter months and I will definitely repurchase when it runs out. it only costs £4.55 which is an absolute bargain and if you read my blog you'll know how much I love a good bargain!

What night cream do you use? What do you think about Nivea?"
